Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter was an American actress who became famous in the film Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her movie Piano was awarded an Oscar. Her career in acting started on Broadway through a myriad of Broadway as well as Off Broadway productions. She has always had an interest in acting from the time she started high school. Her debut role in a play in fifth grade was in Helen Keller. In the fifth grade, due to mumps, she lost her hearing in her left ear. But she didn't let it stop her from performing. In college she studied theatre as well as later moving from Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania to New York City in pursuit of her dreams. Hunter came across Beth Henley by chance in a lift. Together they composed Broadway Crimes of the Heart. It was Hunter's acting debut. Her first film role came after she relocated to Los Angeles. Since then, she has appeared in numerous movies, television shows and movies over the course of a 30-year career. Holly Hunter won a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in addition to her Women in Film Lucy Award.
